Our policy work covers a broad range of issues in healthcare and regulation. These projects come from different sources.
As CHRE oversees the work of the nine health professional regulators, issues may emerge that need further investigation
We can be asked by the Secretary of State for Health and the health ministers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to examine particular questions
We respond to work that other organisations are doing, such as regulators, Government departments and Parliamentary committees, when we believe we can add to the debate
In all our work we talk to organisations and individuals who are interested in the subject, because of their experience or their expertise.
We also try to bring the views of patients and the public into our work at every opportunity. This may be by looking at what other organisations have said, commissioning research with patients, carers and other members of the public, talking to charities, patient groups and our stakeholder network, or through consultations and meetings.
